We Can't Outrun Our Own Pain
Life has taught me one thing above all: if we want our children to grow up whole, we must first become whole ourselves.
I spent years trying to outrun my own pain—through marriages, through my child, through the illusion of freedom, through the distractions of parties, nightlife, friends, and family. But no matter where I went, the storm followed me. Only when I began to face it—to sit with it, to watch it without running—did I start to understand the way out.
